I guess Jay is best known for his detailed depictions of animals and birds, whether these are his large murals and canvasses or his intricate paper illustrations which take him many hours to complete.
His work is often built up of layers of ‘tag’ style lettering only noticeable on closer inspection, whilst also revealing his background within urban art.
Jay finds his inspiration within nature and urban settings, the beauty , the ugliness, the textures and patterns which he brings together as a whole or isolates against bold backgrounds to speak for themselves.
Jay, under the alias ‘dAUb’, takes part in numerous urban / street art festivals around the country as well as more traditional art events.
His latest commission is a 60ft mural titled ‘endangered species’ which can be found at Fargo Village Coventry.
